The CD "Paul Terracini - Music for Brass" has won the ensemble "CD of the Year" award from Brass Band World Magazine in Britain. The CD, composed and conducted by Paul Terracini, featuring the Sydney Symphony Orchestra Brass performing as Sydney Brass, was released on the Tall Poppies label, TP224. Paul will be conducting the Verdi Requiem at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre on 3 September 2016, 8.00 pm. The Penrith Symphony Orchestra will be joined by soloists from Opera Australia, Penrith City Choir, Academy Singers, and Warrimoo Chorale.

Paul will be conducting Mozart's Così fan tutte at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre on 6 August 2016, 8.00 pm. The performance is a co-production between Penrith Symphony Orchestra and Operantics, featuring students and from the Sydney Conservatorium.

Paul is working at the Sydney Conservatorium for the rest of 2016, replacing Andrew Evans, who has taken a sabbatical for second semester. Paul is teaching trumpet and conducting the brass ensemble.

Paul's "Fantasia on Medieval Fragments," for euphonium, harp, and strings, has been chosen as one of three finalists in the International Tuba and Euphonium Association's 2016 Harvey Phillips Competition for new works for euphonium or tuba in chamber music.

The European premiere of Paul's work for brass quintet, "Hærværk," will take place on 6 April under the auspices of the Residentie Orchestra in The Haag, Netherlands. "Hærværk" is the first movement of "Konya," a larger work for brass quintet. Also on the program is Paul's arrangement of "Rhapsody in Blue," for piano and brass quintet.
